Athens, Greece, 24 July 2026. Marathon Airlines S.A. is proud to announce that it has successfully completed its initial IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), conducted in January 2026, and has been officially included in the IOSA Registry in July 2026.

The IATA Operational Safety Audit is the global benchmark for airline operational safety management. The program evaluates an airline against more than 900 internationally recognized standards and recommended practices covering all critical areas of operation, including corporate organization and management, flight operations, operational control and dispatch, engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling, cargo operations, and security. IOSA Registration is a requirement for IATA membership and is widely used by airlines, regulators, lessors, and commercial partners worldwide as a reference for operational quality and safety assurance.

For Marathon Airlines, inclusion in the IOSA Registry confirms that the systems, procedures, and safety culture built across the organization meet the standards applied by the world’s leading carriers. It also strengthens the airline’s position in the international ACMI, wet lease, and charter market, where IOSA Registration is increasingly a prerequisite for partnerships with major airlines and institutional clients.

Commenting on this milestone, Andreas Kaiafas, CEO of Marathon Airlines, stated:
IOSA Registration represents an important recognition of the standards Marathon Airlines has established and the discipline required to sustain them. It strengthens our position within the international aviation community and supports the next phase of our development, including fleet expansion, new partnerships, and broader commercial opportunities. This achievement is not an endpoint. It is a commitment to maintain and continuously enhance the standards that guide our operations every day.”

Building on this achievement, Marathon Airlines continues to invest in its people, its fleet, and its operational infrastructure. IOSA Registration provides a strong foundation for the airline’s growth strategy and the continued development of its services for airline, corporate, and government clients.
