Athens, Greece – June 19, 2024 – Marathon Airlines, a provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) solutions, concluded its successful partnership with Blue Islands, a prestigious regional airline based in the Channel Islands. This collaboration, which involved the wet-leasing of an Embraer E175 based at Jersey Airport, strengthened Blue Islands’ capacity and network reach during an intensive eight-day period. Marathon Airlines efficiently conducted 64 flights on behalf of Blue Islands, transporting over 3,000 passengers between Jersey and key UK destinations like Southampton, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Norwich, and Dublin in Ireland.

This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of Marathon’s ACMI solutions in supporting airlines during peak seasons and ensuring smooth travel experiences for passengers. It also exemplifies Marathon’s capability to respond swiftly to airlines’ ACMI needs, as highlighted by Andreas Kaiafas, CEO of Marathon Airlines: “We are delighted to have collaborated with Blue Islands and leverage our ACMI expertise to deliver a seamless and reliable service. Our comprehensive solutions enable airlines like Blue Islands to dynamically scale their operations by increasing fleet capacity without long-term ownership commitments. This flexibility allows them to adapt to seasonal demand and optimize their network strategy.
