Marathon Airlines for Lübeck Air

Pretty. Fast. Take off. That is the motto of Lübeck Airport, which stands for accompanying its guests’ desire to travel in a friendly and uncomplicated manner. The in-house virtual
airline Lübeck Air now announces another partner for the summer season: Marathon Airlines. Destinations from Lübeck such as Iceland, Menorca, Bastia in Corsica and Olbia in Sardinia will be served by a modern Embraer 175. “The choice of an Embraer as the perfect medium-haul aircraft already proved its worth last summer,” says airport and Lübeck Air managing director Jürgen Friedel. “Our passengers receive the usual Lübeck Air service, the routes can be booked through us, there are only aisle and window seats and furthermore hand and checked baggage are already included in the ticket price.”

The 88-seat jet will be based locally in Lübeck throughout the season, from May to the end of October, which will have a positive impact on route planning. Furthermore, the fast turbo-prop aircraft of the German Private Wings is in operation for Lübeck Air and already serves the route to Munich and will be used on destinations such as Bergen, Bern and Salzburg starting in May, flying to these destinations particularly efficiently. “With its 32 seats, Private Wings’ Dornier 328 is very well suited to our established routes – and the passenger saves time because the aircraft flies fast but produces no contrails, which in turn benefits the environment.
